A firebrand is a tool used to set fuel alight. It is made by using a long straight shaft on a fire. After 1 minute it reverts back into a long straight shaft. It can be used to start another fire by using on kindling. It can also be used on a fuel-filled oven, kiln or forge to make burning oven, firing kiln or firing forge respectively. It is also used to start a Newcomen Pump. It is needed to light the tutorial torch in order to complete the tutorial.
Note: Ovens and kilns need to contain kindling in order to set alight. Forges and Newcomen Pumps, Oil Rigs, Multipurpose Newcomen Engines and Fractional Distillers, need to contain charcoal in order to set alight.
