A Bone Pile is a type of bones created after emptying a Basket of Bones. Bone Piles disappear after 120 minutes. Since regular graves take 182 minutes to naturally despawn, it is generally advised to pick them up and move them to speed decay.

- Picking up bone piles will reset their decay timer, so it best to leave bone piles as well as Old Graves (which also take 120 minutes to disappear) where they are unless they are in the way.
- A shovel can be used on the bone pile to make a Buried Grave, further reducing the decay time to 1 hour. However, in most cases the cost of iron is not worth the reduced time.
- Using a Charcoal Pencil on the Bone Pile will make a Defaced Bone Pile.
